The Cameroon Women’s Football League management body has issued a release postponing two of the Championship’s big games this weekend due to the engagement of a number of players with a national U-23 team.
The match day 12 fixtures; Eclair of Sa’a versus Lekie Filles and Louves Minprof’s clash against Amazone FAP can’t no longer go as planned. This is because the four clubs have a bulk of their staff away in Morocco as explained in the release from the Secretary General Sidonie Tagne.
“The Secretary General of the Ligue de Football Feminine informs the sporting population and concerned parties that the matches Eclair Vs Lekie and Louves Vs Amazone FAP counting for match day 12 of the Guinness Super League have been postponed due to the presence of a number of players with the Cameroon U-23 team,” the release read.
The decision to postpone the games till after the international friendlies has been saluted by stakeholders across the board.
Josephine Ndoumou has traveled to Morocco with 25 players affiliated to Guinnness Super League clubs. Éclair and FAP have seven players each from the squad, while the rest are from other clubs, including league leaders Lekie and women’s cup winners Louves.
Cameroon’s U23 faces their Moroccan counterparts on April 6th and 9th in two games in Rabat, Morocco.
Both nations are preparing for future competitions as well as providing more game time and international football experience for the intermediate Lionesses.
