Ambitious Saudi second tier side Al-Diriyah has completed the signing of season Cameroon international Georges-Kevin Nkoudou from Saoudi Pro side Damac.

Club Chairman Khaled bin Mohammed Al-Saud did his maximum to secure the services of the 30-year-old for coach Sabri Lamouchi and the club confirmed his arrival with the message “welcome to Diriyah”.

Nkoudou, who scored 13 goals and provided four assists for relegated last season in the top-flight championship had been tipped to have done enough to get himself another Club in that echelon of Saudi football but the player and his entourage have settled for Al-Diriyah upon evualtion of their options.

The former Tottenham and Olympique Marseille winger has signed a three-year contract to become the club’s sixth acquisition this summer and the second most expensive at €3.5 Millions, that’s just half a million short of the fees paid to secure the services of French forward Gaëtan Laborde from OGC Nice.

Nkoudou will be hoping to quickly hit the ground running when the new campaign gets started, so as to increase his chances of being invited to the Cameroon team that will travel to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco.
