Receiving the flag from the President is a sign of national blessing to boost players’ morale ahead of their quest at Africa’s biggest football Mundial taking which will commence on January 13, 2023.

The team has a huge task in their bid to qualify from a tough group having host, Ivory Coast; three-time champions, Nigeria; and Equatorial Guinea.

In a related development, midfielder Alfa Semedo and Moreto Cassama, defender Mancone Soriano Mane, and forward Famana Quizera joined the team in training on Tuesday.

The national football manager Baciro Cande already has all 25 players called up for AFCON 2023, at the stadium in Bissau.
Djurtus continue to intensify training at the national stadium on September 24, to better prepare for their fourth appearance at the final stage of the African Nations Championship to be played in Cote d’Ivoire in 2024.
