Potential indomitable Lions of Cameroon forward Daniel Namaso Edi-Mesumbe Loader picked up the Portuguese Cup winners medal on Sunday evening after his club, FC Porto inflicted a 0-2 defeat on everlasting rival FC Braga in a pulsating final which both sides finished with ten men at the Desportivo Nacional do Jamor stadium.

The Cameroon-born forward was an unused substitute for Porto who scored two second-half goals to win the game and their 19th Portuguese Cup in their illustrious history.

André Horta beat his own keeper just minutes into the second segment before Otávio Edmilson da Silva Monteiro added a second goal in the closing stages.

Brazilian defender Wendell Borges was sent off in the 62nd minute, reducing Porto to ten for over a quarter of an hour before equilibrium was restored following the dismissal of Sikou Niakate.

The chances that fell to both clubs after the goal were not taken, thus leaving the final score as 2-0 in favour of Sérgio Conceição’s men who finished runners-up up to Benfica in the domestic championship.

Though the potential Cameroon international didn’t feature in the final, he has been a regular for Porto this term and scored some crucial goals to take them this far.

The trophy is Loader’s third in Porto colors, adding to the Portuguese league triumph last season and the Super cup win on the eve of the just-ended campaign.

Loader whose father hail from Kupemuaneguba is yet to honor a call up to the Cameroon national team.
