The Cameroon football community is currently on edge as they await the verdict of African Football (CAF) Disciplinary committee after Samuel Eto’o Fils, other accused and witnesses were heard earlier on.

The CAF disciplinary committee meeting addressed a number of issues with sources claiming charges on match-fixing accusations and his relationship with a betting company have been the issues on the table at the moment.

Samuel Eto’o, finds himself at the center of a storm involving allegations of match-fixing dating back to August 2023 per the query of Cameroon football stakeholders.

CAF had announced an investigation into these allegations in 2022, which has cast a shadow over Eto’o’s reputation.

Eto’o appeared before the disciplinary committee on Tuesday; however, details of the matter have not been made public.

The lack of information has fueled speculation and anxiety among fans and stakeholders.

As the football world watches and wait, the outcome of the CAF Disciplinary committee meeting could have far-reaching implications for football governance in this five time AFCON winning country.

The Cameroonian fans, in particular, are eager for a resolution that will restore stability and integrity to their beloved sport.

An enigmatic Facebook message which reads ‘mission successful’ has highten speculations.

In the meantime, Eto’o fanatics and his critics are already celebrating victory, even before the final whistle.
