  • Cyclone have finally made it through to the Guinness Super League after three failed attempts
  • The great season for both sides was climaxed on Saturday with progress to the top-flight

Littoral and Center Women’s Regional championship Vision Foot of Yaoundé and Cyclone of Douala respectively have been promoted to the top-flight of Cameroon football after conquering in their semi-final playoffs matches over the weekend.

The clubs earned promotion to the Guinness Super League following their respective victories in their semi-final outing. Cyclone FC defeated Beembal FC by 4-0 while Vision Foot needed penalty shootout to be separated from Bansoa SA after a 2-2 draw in regular time.

The results of the two games puts the clubs in the highest echelon of Cameroon football and ends many years of failure for Cyclone that become the third club from the Littoral region to qualify for the Guinness Super League – joining Authentic Ladies and Caiman Filles.

The newly-promoted clubs will replace center region duo Fortuna Filles and Eding Filles that were relegated after a disappointing last season.

Ambitious Vision Foot is expected to quickly adapt to the championship given their resources and personnel though Cyclone is not far from the same situation.

The new Guinness Super League season is expected to resume in November and when it gets underway, FC Ebolowa will be competing to different the crown they won last season.
