Sudanese giants Al Hilal SC of Omdurman have sent home all of his foreign personnel as the war between military factions in the country heightens.

Congolese duo Otis Ngoma, Lilepo Glody Makaba plus Ghanaians Imoro Ibrahim and David Abagna joined Lamine Jarjou from The Gambia, Malawian forward Jnr Phiri and coach Jean Florent Ibenge to return home on Thursday as events takes a new twist.

The Sudani Premier League Chairman of the Competitions Committee, El Fateh Bani, and his Organising Committee suspended the League matches indefinitely from last Tuesday.

Sudanese Premier League leaders, Hilal have not played any domestic championship game since April 14 because of the suspension of football due to the war.

Countries have been evacuating their nationals from Sudan as fighting between forces loyal to rival army figures
continues across the country for a second week.

Emergency flights have been leaving the country since last week, with hundreds of people flown out overnight on military aircraft.

Army and paramilitary troops have been in street battles in the country’s capital for over two weeks, leaving behind charred tanks, gutted buildings and looted shops.

UN figures have it that over 480 people have been killed and thousands wounded, hence explaining Hilal’s decision to evacuate the foreign staff.

The fighting broke out on 15 April between forces loyal to army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and his deputy-turned-rival Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, who commands the powerful paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Calls for a ceasefire from various bodies across the globe have been ignored.
