  • The defender has signed a five-year contract with the multiple Tunisian champions
  • He is expected to be a serious option in his position for the coming season

Willis Didof Tene Nkenge has completed a switch from Pau FC to Club Africain of Tunisia on a five-year contract signed and registered.

The Tunisian giants announced the acquisition via their Facebook page on Tuesday, marking a new chapter in the career of the man who only played in France before now.

Tene, 21-year-old and a versatile left-back who can also play as a left-sided midfielder was signed on Monday after close to three weeks of service to the club through a tryout period during which he was subject to evaluation in three pre-season games.

The French-born Cameroonian received the approval of coach David Bettoni following his showings in friendlies against Wydad Casablanca and Entente Sportif Setif in their pre-season camp in Tabarka.

He is expected to compete for a starting berth in the highly competitive squad though there are indications that he is trusted across the board.

When the new season gets underway, Tene will become the latest Cameroonian to compete in the North African nation’s national championship and as well as add value to Club Africain’s everlasting quest to conquer in the CAF interclub Competitions.

Tene, who was born in France and spent the best part of his life away from Cameroon is yet to represent any of the two national teams at any category, thus making him eligible for call ups from either side of his origin.

A good run of form for the Tunisian club can catch the attention of the Cameroon national team as it was the case for Frank Kom a few years back when he was at the peak of his power at Esperance of Tunis.
