  • Meyong Menene’s stay at Reims has come to an end after two successful seasons
  • Meyong made 40 appearances and produced three assists from it in two seasons
  • The legendary Louves Minproff captain will be switching to her third club abroad in the days ahead

Industrious Cameroonian midfielder Charlène Yverna Meyong Menene has announced the end of her time on the books French Women’s D1 Arkena championship outfit, Stade Reims.

The 25-year-old who joined the French top-flight championship outfit in 2022 from Chinese second tier side, Miehzhou Hakka took to Instagram on Monday, June 15 to state she had drawn the curtains on the Reims chapter, and it was her time to move on.

Our sources say though both parties agreed to the separation, there was huge efforts within Reims to keep her alongside compatriot Ngock Monique in midfield and full-back

The former Louves Minproff skipper didn’t mention her next destination though it is believed she could be her way to another great club in the days ahead.

Experienced Meyong with over 30 caps under her belt since she made her international debut under Joseph Ndoko in 2018 is expected to be a player of another club within the next two weeks.

Since her debut at the 2018 COSAFA Women’s Cup, she has been a regular for the Indomitable Lionesses, with her last goal coming in a 2-1 Olympic qualifying win over Cote d’Ivoire in November 2021.

Looks like it’s only a matter of time before the former Louves Minproff star is known for her speed, fine movement and brilliant finishing for club and country return to duty though for another club this time around.
