France-based midfielder Carlos Noom Baleba is unavailable for selection into Cameroon’s final squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier games against Namibia later this month.

Cameroon coach Rigobert Song included the 19-year-old in a provisional squad of 34 players released last week hoping to convince the player to join the national team immediately.

However, kick442.com has learned Song has to adjust to the fact that the player is still at the embryonic stage of his development and all focused on cementing his place at his French Ligue 1 club as earlier stated.

The 19-year-old Brasserie Football Academy graduate has featured in 14 games for Lille’s first  team this season as he shuttles between that and playing for the Reserves.

Baleba who has won the admiration of mates and fans alike has been on the lips of many Cameroonians who want him on board immediately, but the boy is keen on winning Paulo Fonseca’s full confidence before commiting towards international football.

The likes of Zambo Anguissa, Andre Onana, William Saliba and Dimitri Oberlin previously put international football on the same plate when they were still in the breakthrough state at their clubs at the time.

This Sunday, Song will name Cameroon’s final squad to face Namibia in Match Day three and four of the AFCON qualifiers on March 24 and 28 respectively.
