  • Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting will miss Cameroon’s game today due to a health challenge which he has taken an appointment to sort in Germany
  • Choupo-Moting missed Cameroon’s 4-1 win against Cape Verde Island, so his mates should be able to do the job without the former Bayern Munich and PSG forward

Cameroon will be without outgoing Bayern Munich captain Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting when they face Angola in Luanda on Tuesday.

Choupo-Moting who was an unused substitute in the 4-1 win against Cape Verde Islands last Saturday has reportedly suffered a renal colic injury per information from the Media officer of the team, Germaine Noel Essengue.

A radiological assessment carried out on Monday evening the evening by the team Dr Professor William Ngatchou at the Zango Medical center in Luanda, revealed the problem and confirmed his unavailability.

Sources say an appointment for treatment by a Urologist has already been taken in Germany on Thursday June 13.

The injury suffered by Choupo adds him to the list of absentees that already carries the names of Jean Charles Castelletto, Raoul Danzabe, James Eto’o.

The absences of Choupo-Moting leaves Cameroon with Vincent Aboubakar, Bryan Mbeuo, Nicolas Ngamaleu, Didier Lamkel Ze, Jules Armand Kooh, Nchindo John Bosco as the Central Africans’ options in attack in the crucial game in Angola.

The Cameroon international and fifth all-time top scorer in the history of the Indomitable Lions will be a big miss especially if stories of him being rested last Saturday for this is anything to go by.

35-year-old Choupo-Moting took his leave of international football during Hugo Broos era after being criticized for being injured when Cameroonians need him, but has re-established himself as one of the Lions’ key men over the years.

Choupo switched sporting allegiance to Cameroon 13 years ago and has gone on to score 23 goals in 86 caps.
