The president of the Cameroon Referees Association Alioum Sidi says his corps members are not happy following the conditions they are subject to during the dispatch of their function.
President Alioum, a retired international Referee made the revelation during a recent outing on Douala based Radio, RSI where he was called to detail the situation of active Referees in charge of MTN Elite One and Two matches.
“It’s true we are not happy about the manner in which Referees are managed. There was a crisis but we have discussed it with the Secretary General of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) and the situation will change in the coming days,” he stated.
Referees in Cameroon first and second tier championship have endured a difficult pass two years going for tenths of matches without being paid for matches they have officiated.
The situation has led to some officials declining matches while others take advantage of the situation to insult and even abuse them.
The corp, medical, club presidents amongst others have expressed worries about their welfare vis-a-vis the obligations of the FA in the past three years but unfortunately little or nothing has been done about that thus affecting their output.
