Players and staff of the U-17 Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will face Burkina Faso in their first game of the 2025 U-17 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) this morning hoping to pick up from the form they exhibited back at home.

Cameroon who capped their preparation for the tournament before travelling to Morocco with a win over the Summer Soccer Academy of Buea will be hoping to get the better of Burkina Faso who eliminated them in the previous edition of the youth soccer jamboree.

Though Cameroon played two international friendlies since arriving in Morocco, the game an organised team like the Summer Soccer Academy guided by coach Enobi Brandon should be their reference this evening.

Burkina Faso and Cameroon open their Group B commitments with a clash at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca on Monday (kick-off 17h00 local time / GMT).

The game will mark the fourth meeting of these nations at the finals. In their three meetings so far at the finals, two games have ended drawn with Burkina Faso winning the other clash. All three of their previous clashes have been in the group stages.

Coach Alioum Saidou Willbe hoping to be the man that inspires Junior Abou Lopez and co to achieve the rare feat of getting the better of the West African Nation.

Though the Lions beat Summer Soccer Academy, their players and CEO Malle Kenneth will be chairing them up throughout the tournament, hoping Cameroon will be at its best shape tonight and in clashes to come against Egypt and South Africa.
