The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have revealed that Senegalese midfielder Mame Libasse Laye Ngom will serve the second of his two match suspension this Saturday in the quarter-final of the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) game against the Al Mourabitounes of Mauriatania.

Ngom was sent off following dangerous tackle during Senegal’s 0-1 defeat to Uganda in a Group B game in match day of the competition for players affiliated to clubs of their country of origin.

Ahead of this Friday’s quarter-final an official of the Teranga Lions team has revealed to kick442.com that they are preparing for life without the midfielder who will be serving a suspension.

Senegal were without Ngom in the 3-0 win against two-time winners DR Congo last week and so should be fine without the 19-year-old Generation Foot man though a full complement of players could have provided more options for coach Pape Bouna Thiaw.

Senegal won Group B of the tournament with six points but have a daunting task against Group D winners and neighbors Mauritania who enter the quarter-final with their tails up, hoping Amir Abdou magic touch inspires them to yet again another upset.

Ngom started Senegal’s first two games but he is condemned to watch this from the stands and hope his team wins to give him another chance to right the wrongs in the turning all was working for him until the moment the red card was brandished towards him.

Senegal face Mauritania in the North-East of Algeria in the Coastal City of Annaba at 8PM tonight at the 19 May 1956  stadium few hours after hosts Algeria finish the first quarter-final game against Cote D’Ivoire in Algiers.
