The countdown to the CAF Awards 2024 continues with Cameroon making waves with an impressive array of nominations.

The prestigious event, set to take place on December 16, 2024, in Marrakech, Morocco, will honor the best of African football.

The U20 team’s captain, Naomi Eto, and goalkeeper Cathy Biya, are contenders for the Young Player of the Year award. What’s more remarkable is that 18-year-old Cathy Biya is also in the running for the Goalkeeper of the Year award, showcasing her exceptional talent .

The women’s national team, affectionately known as the Lionesses, has been nominated for Team of the Year. Their outstanding performance, which includes leading Cameroon to its first-ever Round of 16 appearance in the U20 Women’s World Cup, has brought them to the lime light.

Coach Hassan Balla is also vying for the Coach of the Year title, a testament to his exceptional leadership and guidance.

The winners of each category will be determined through votes from a diverse panel, comprising the CAF Technical Committee, media professionals, and the Head Coaches & Captains of Member Associations, as well as clubs participating in the group stages of CAF Interclub competitions .

Cameroon’s multiple nominations are a proud moment for the country, as they wait to see how they fare at the awards ceremony.
