The Roumdé Adjia Stadium will host Cameroon’s AFCON 2025 qualifiers campaign, marking the team’s first match at this venue since securing their last AFCON ticket against Burundi on September 12, 2023.

Head coach Marc Brys, speaking at a pre-match press conference on Friday, expressed his intent to achieve victory for the residents of Garoua.

“It’s the first match of the qualifiers; we are not under pressure, but we want to win. The people of Garoua are wonderful, and we want to return the favor,” he stated.

This match will be Brys’s third in charge of the Indomitable Lions, following a win against Cape Verde and a draw with Angola last June.

He praised Namibia, highlighting their depth, speed, and technical skills, which pose a challenge for Cameroon. “If we control possession, we won’t have any problems. Our goal is to maintain the ball with plenty of movement,” he added.

Namibia has had recent success against Cameroon, including a 1-1 draw in Yaoundé and a 2-1 win away last March. Despite injury setbacks, Brys remains optimistic about his squad, which includes players like Andre Onana Carlos Baleba, Boris Enow just to name a few, who were not present the last time both teams squarred up.

The group is currently living in harmony and togetherness, serenely preparing for to brave the challenge . First choice keeper Andre Onana shared with press men and women

“The chemistry in the team is amazing, We are good with each other, we have been playing with each other for a long time , everyone is nice…we are happy to be here, when the team lives together they play together, we love playing with each other ”

The match is particularly significant for the Manchester United goalie, as it is the same place where he played his first game after returning to international duty.

The game is scheduled for 5 PM on Saturday, and a win would place Cameroon at the top of their group with three points, following a goalless draw between Kenya and Zimbabwe earlier today.
