The Cameroon football federation (FECAFOOT) has on Friday April, 14 confirmed the effective transfer of training compensation to all amateur clubs whose players have been drafted into the roaster of Elite 1 & 2 clubs in the recent transfer windows.
According to the release signed by president Samuel Eto’o in the early hours of today, all amateur clubs who effected transfer of players to top-flight or second tier championship clubs have effectively received compensation deducted from what the Elite clubs were dued.
“Acting as a clearing chamber in accordance with article No: 69 of September 1, 2022, the Cameroon football federation has decided to make effective payments of training compensation to Amateur clubs for transfers prior to the 2022/23 season.
In fact, the amounts were directly taken from the support granted by the Federation to professional clubs. For each player, deductions were made as follows;
-One million FCFA per player to MTN Elite One
-Half Million per player transfered from an amateur club to MTN Elite 2.
The move finally enters application after an over ten year wait and the payment is only for players that have never played for an Elite club in the Elite championship.
We understand around the regions of a hundred million have been coughed out to more than 50 amateur clubs for this reason.
