Boris Takang Enow made a sensational impact in his first appearance for the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, netting a crucial free kick in the 63rd minute to secure a 1-0 victory over Kenya and clinch qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The DC United midfielder, who was introduced as a second-half substitute for Kunde Malong, showcased his striking prowess just 18 minutes after stepping onto the pitch.

Having received his call-up to the national squad on August 30, Enow had been eager to make his mark but had yet to see game time until this match.

In a recent interview, he credited team captain Vincent Aboubakar for facilitating his smooth integration into the squad, expressing his determination to showcase his talents when given the chance.

“I promise my fans to be patient; when my opportunity arises, I will make them proud,” he stated confidently.

Enow’s goal not only secured three vital points for Cameroon but also reinforced their position at the top of Group J with a commanding total of 10 points. This standout performance could very well cement his place in the national setup and potentially earn him a spot in the starting XI.

A product of Cynodev FC in Buea, Enow’s journey has seen him traverse through several academies and clubs. He moved to the Brasserie Football Academy before joining Porto B in 2019 and then Lens B in the 2020/2021 season.

The midfielder spent time with Maccabi Netanya in Israel’s top division where he scored four goals and offered two assists in 105 games, before making his move to Major League Soccer with DC United in July 2024.

Since joining MLS, Enow has already made six appearances this season, demonstrating his readiness to compete at the highest level.
