The team bus of Bafmeng United FC was involved in a road accident on Sunday in Santa, while returning to Bamenda after their MTN Elite Two matchday one fixture against Kumba City FC.
According to reports by @afesehapong, the vehicle went off the road, but no major injuries were recorded among the players or officials on board.
The bus went off track, but thank God nobody sustained any major injuries,” the report said.
Confirming the situation, Bafmeng United’s Media Officer, Afeseh, told kick442.com that the team had safely returned home.
The team is fine and all the players have returned to their base and are preparing for their next match,” he said.
The incident occurred hours after Bafmeng United’s 1–0 defeat to Kumba City in Kumba, in what was their opening fixture of the 2025/2026 MTN Elite Two season.
While the exact cause of the accident has not been officially disclosed, there has been no report of serious injuries, and players are said to have undergone routine medical checks.
The club has not yet released an official statement, and there has been no immediate reaction from the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT).
The incident has once again drawn attention to concerns over road safety and travel conditions faced by clubs in Cameroon’s domestic leagues, where long journeys by road remain common.
