- In the 16th finals of the Algerian Cup, Christian Leonel Ateba scored his first two goals for USM Alger in a crushing 8-0 victory over third division team MB Rouissat
The former PWD Bamenda forward, who joined USM in February, sealed the win with a late strike in the 87th minute, after finding the net for the first time in the 63rd minute.
His teammate Bellatreche opened the scoring in the first minute and added another goal later, while Djahnit scored a hat-trick and captain Belaid converted a penalty in the 52nd minute.
With this, he now has two assists, two goals in his four games for the club so far.
Before leaving for Algeria, Ateba was one of the best strikers in Cameroons professional football league. The 25-year-old had seven goals to his credit and was Dynamo of Douala’s highest goal scorer.
The 2026 world cup aspirant, has passed through clubs Like FC Yaoundé,AS Fortuna, Cotonsport , PWD of Bamenda and Dynamo of Douala.
He has also played with the senior national team in November 2023, in a World Cup qualifier against Libya and was part of the squad of the Africa cup of nations.
