Angu Lesley gets CAF assignment

Cameroonian football writer and Media Officer, Angu Lesley Ngwa Akonwi has been appointed Media Officer at the ongoing 2023 Women’s CAF Champions League zonal tournament for the finals Union of Football Federation of Central Africa (UNIFFAC) in Malabo.

Angu, who served to good effect at the men’s U-20 tournament in July in Kinshasa has been recalled by president Guy Blaise Mayolas as part of efforts to get the best of Media operations during the competition.

The competition which runs from September 8 to 14 in the Equatorial Guinea capital city will be Angu’s eighth international event. Having worked at two African Nations Championship (CHAN), the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the 2022 FIFA World Cup plus the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup he is expected to bring all that experience to the fold.

The second edition of the Women’s flagship football tournament will produce the club that will represent the zone at the continental finals later this year in Côte D’Ivoire.

Epah Ngamba of Congo, last year’s winner TP Mazembe of the DR Congo and host Huracanes FC are competing for the cherished spot to represent the region.

Angu manages Media operations during and before match days to ensure that the zonal output follow the FIFA and CAF recommended standards.
