The 2024 Limbe December U18 best player and top scorer Angel Yondjo has been called up to the Intermediate Lions of Cameroon squad preparing for the second leg game of the the 2025 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers scheduled this Saturday in Bafoussam Cameroon.
Yondjo has found favor in the eyes of coach Soh Simplis being one of the most prolific U18 striker in the land as confirmed by his eight goals scored in the recent December international tournament.
Yondjo’s progression with the Elite de Foot Boissons du Cameroon has been one to write home about and he has featured in the U17 and U20 UNIFFAC tournaments.
Yondjo was top scorer in the U17 AFCON in Limbe two years ago and he already caught attention from clubs in Europe.
It was already rumored that Yondjo was to be called up to the intermediate lions team before the first leg, but the Limbe December tournament was priority for the striker and EFBC.
Upon exceptional performances in the just ended one week tournament in Limbe, his call up became eminent.
Yondjo will be in Bafoussam on December 28 2024 when Cameroon takes on Central African Republic in the return leg of the AFCON qualifiers.
Cameroon face Central Africa Republic which they beat 1-0 in the reverse fixture and hope to complete the job and seal a place at next year’s tournament for home based players scheduled between February 1st to 28 across three countries.
