Junior Patrick Akongo Evouna climbed off the bench to score a brace in Colombe of Dja’s dramatic 5-3 against Bamboutos FC of Mbouda.
The teenager picked up from Academy Nkufo was at his best as he beat Benjamin Munya twice to add to goals from Gabriel Mballa, Randy Ntube Kwalar and Pascal Eze in the match day eight fixture Kache Boris and Samson Kwasi also found the back of the net for Bamboutos FC.
Evina’s goals in the 78th and 81st minute was the turning point of the game which could have gone either side.
Mballa set the tone for the afternoon when he scored the opener for Colombe six minutes after kick-off.
Coach Asare Bediako’s Bamboutos FC remained glued to their quick passing philosophy, hoping to catch Ndongo Emma’s team on the counter.
Nfor Idriss in goal for Colombe denied Carlain Manga Mbah and Kache Boris the equalizer.
Bamboutos finally got the reward for their efforts at the half-time mark when defender Bisso turned in a cross from Manga to make it 1-1.
Kwalar restored the advantage when he beat Benjamin Munya from a dead ball situation from way out.
Bamboutos obtained a penalty just after resumption and Kache stepped up to restore parity through his seventh goal of the season.
What followed was the unthinkable. Ghanaian forward Samson Kwasi put Bamboutos FC ahead for the first time in the afternoon when he beat Nfor with a wonderful acrobatic finish from a Mbah cross.
The lead last three minutes as Pascal Eze drew Colombe level before Evouna stepped up to win it.
The teenage forward scored in the 78th and 81st minutes to ensure all three points belong to the Southerners.
The game finished 5-3 in favor of Colombe of Dja as they return home with only their second win in eight outings this season.
