African Athletics Championship: Marie Talou decries poor treatment amidst competition

One hundred metres sprinter of Ivorian descend Marie Josée Talou,has decried the poor treatment attributed to some teams, in the ongoing African Athletics Championship, taking place in Douala, Cameroon.

Barely few hours after the official kick-off of the African Athletics Jamboree, the sprinter vomited wild fire on the African Athletics Confederation as she said:

“There are so many things l don’t want to say about the organization of the African Athletics Championship.I am sadden, when l see another African team escorted,by forces of law and order. Meanwhile, my team and l have to depend on local cabs.”

“We were oblige to take ‘Yango’ for the stadium due to inadequate transportation”, she said.

However,many Cameroonians who watched the opening ceremony of the games,have decried the poor organizational aspect from the host country, asking themselves whether the authorities weren’t aware or informed of the utmost importance of the competition, which is a spring board for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games.The CAA started on June 21 and will end by June 26th.

Talou most impressive results was during the 2016 Rio Olympics, in Brazil, where she reached both finals and finished 4th both in the 100 and 200 m.

Amidst competition in Douala,she recently claimed the 100m Women’s race heating 11.14 seconds.
