Samuel Eto’o, the president of the Cameroon football federation has re-echoed his confidence in the current staff if the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.

Speaking this Friday in Doha per Leger Tientcheu Eto’o qualified the Song-led staff as the team he needs and hinted he was doing work to earn a brighter future.

“I have the coach I need,” Eto’o watered down possibilities of changes in the Lions staff before adding he will complement them.

“I will help them to win,” the legend who won everything in his playing career added during his submission.

Song was appointed in February this year as replacement for sacked Portuguese coach – Antonio Conceicao. The ex-Indomitable Lions skipper eventually guided the Cameroon to an eighth FIFA World Cup qualification.

Though Cameroon exited the tournament in the group stage, Song’s team left lasting impression as they beat Brazil 1-0 in the final group game to become the first African side to defeat Brazil at the FIFA World Cup.

Song has taken charge of 10 games as head coach of the Indomitable Lions, among which he has won three, registered three draws and four defeats.

The Indomitable Lions return to activity in March 2023 in an AFCON qualifier clash against the Harambe Stars of Kenya during which Cameroonians will be on the lookout to see Eto’o’s winning touch on Song’s job as coach of their darling team.
