Morocco maintained its perfect start to the 2023 U-23 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) after a 1-o win over Congo to win its group with three wins after three games.
Younes Taha’s seventh minute goal for the North African side settled the contest .
In the other Group A match, Guinea forced Ghana to a 1-1 draw and joined Morocco in the last four.
Emmanuel Yeboah had given the West African side the lead in the 33rd minute from Issahaku Fatwau’s assist but Guinea replied in the second half.
Ibrahima Breze in the 61st minute broke the heart of Ghanaian fans as his equaliser ended the team’s chance of qualifying for next year’s Olympics.
Morocco toped Group A with a maximum of nine points ahead of Guinea and Ghana both on four points but Guinea progressed on superior goal difference.
