Cameroon has been placed in pot one for the forthcoming 2026 World cup draw slated for July 12,2023.
The country of Samuel Eto’o lost one place in the latest FIFA rankings jumping from the 42nd position to the 43rd, while maintaining the seventh position on the continent.
Together with top place Morocco, Senegal , Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt , Nigeria, Mali and Cote D’Ivoire, these nine nations will lead the nine world cup groups comprising of five other countries .
Nine nations from the 54 competing will be in Canada, Mexico and the United States come 2026. The top nine after the qualifying rounds will book their world cup spot, with the four best placed teams to participate in a continental playoff.
The winner will compete in an inter continental tournament for a possible ten slot for Africa.

Pot 4: Mozambique, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Togo, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Central African Republic, Malawi, Libya
Pot 5 : Niger, Comoros, Sudan, Rwanda ,Burundi , Ethiopia, Eswatini, Botswana , Liberia.
Pot 6 : Lesotho, South Sudan, Mauritius, Chad ,Saõ Tomé and Príncipi, Djibouti, Seychelles, Eritrea , Somalia.
