Cameroon International, Jean-Pierre Nsame has finally says his absence from the Lions Den for a while now is largely due to the fact that he could possible be a problem to the team.
Nsame made the revelation recently in an interview as he recounted his experience in the national team.
“When I came to the National team for the first time, I didn’t want to go back… If I see that I’m becoming a problem, I’d rather withdraw myself”.
Rigobert Song Bahanag claimed the striker is reluctant and doesn’t want to make himself available for a call up. Meanwhile the Young Boys Bern man says conditions aren’t favorable.
Nsame has been absent from the team since December last year when he made World Cup squad, but didn’t play even a minute in Cameroon’s two games.
He was equally left out of the 2023 African Cup of Nations(AFCON) qualifier squad even after being the most consistent and convincing striker with a stellar performance as at now.
His absence from the team became a call for concern with football lovers asking the big question “Why is Nsame always snobbed?.
For the third season in succession, Jean Pierre Nsame emerged highest goal scorer in Swiss.
The 30-year-old striker scored 21 goals plus four assists in 33 games in the Swiss super league this season to become top scorer, leading the Young Boys Bern to win a double this season; Swiss Super Lig and Cup.
22 players were summoned to the National team for Cameroon’s friendly against Mexico, the teams most recent outing and Nsame still did not earn a call.
