The Cameroon Chess Federation (FECADE) is set to officially present the national teams that will represent the country at the 2026 Chess Olympiad, as preparations gather pace for one of the biggest events on the international chess calendar.
The official presentation will bring together the national selections and members of the media, providing an opportunity to outline Cameroon’s ambitions ahead of the competition and shed light on the preparations leading to the Olympiad.
FECADE will use the press conference to present its sporting objectives and preparation programme, with officials expected to provide details on how the teams have been preparing for the demanding international competition.
The event will also feature a question-and-answer session, allowing journalists to engage directly with federation officials and members of the national teams on Cameroon’s expectations, preparations and ambitions at the Olympiad.
An official photo session will also form part of the programme, giving the selected players and technical officials an opportunity to mark their participation in the prestigious global chess event.
The 2026 Chess Olympiad represents an important opportunity for Cameroon’s chess players to test themselves against some of the strongest players and teams from around the world while gaining valuable international experience.
FECADE’s presentation is therefore expected to offer a first clear picture of Cameroon’s objectives and the players entrusted with flying the country’s flag at the Olympiad.
With the national teams now being formally presented, attention will turn to the final phase of preparation as Cameroon seeks to make its presence felt on the international chess stage.
