Indomitable Lions head coach David Pagou, has unveiled the list of players called up to face Australia and China on March 27 and 31 in the FIFA Series 2026 to be played in Sydney and Melbourne respectively.
26 players have been selected by the gaffer, comprising of four goalkeepers, 10 defenders, nine midfielders and three forwards, with some key names like Bryan Mbeumo, Nagida Mohamadou, Authur Avom and Danny Namaso Loader making the squad.
In a bid to integrate local players into the indomitable Lions squad, David Pagou named Four home based players who managed to convince him with an impressive showing at the last pre-selection training camp; Goalkeeper Housseini Ousmanou and Mael Fernandez both of Gazelle FA, Eloundou Ndzomo of AS Fortuna and Konrad Nfanseu of Panthère sportive du Nde.
Key players like Christian Bassogog and Nouhou Tolo who acted as leaders of the team during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations(AFCON)in Morocco, Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba Kevin Nkoudou did not make the list. Many of them believed to have been rested by the coach this dropping them intentionally.
However, on the list are several newcomers. Goalkeeper Blondy Nounkeu,24, who plays for French ligue 2 club boulonge, returns after five years. He represented Cameroon in 2020 when he was just 19.
At the backline, jackson tchachtoua returns. He replaces junior tchamadeu who just recovered from his injury but is still going through the healing process.
19-year old former Victoria United center back Emmanuel Moungan, gets his first call up to the National team. He just recently joined Landskrona, a swedish D2 club on a 3-year deal.
Stepane Paul keller equally summoned, is a 24-year-old defender who plys his trade with Saudi pro league club al Ittihad on loan from loan from AEL Limassol
Olivier kandem a 23yr old cameroonian defender who plays as right back for Bulgarian first division club levski sofia has been summoned alongside watford defender Kevin keben.
In the midfield compartment, Saidou alioum moubarak is one of the new comers. He plays as winger for ifk goteborg in sweden.
Ryan fosso yremfack who just recently switched allegiance and chose to represent cameroon has been called up. The former Swiss youth international currently plays for sk strum graz in Austria.
As speculated, the young sensational former EFBC, U17, 20 and Intermediate lions striker Angel Matah YONDJO gets his first senior national team call up. The Lille forward has been a convincing player in every national team category he represented, thus pushing Pagou to make use of him this international break as he is visibly trying to build a young team.
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will face Australia on March 27 in Sydney and China on March 31 in Melbourne.
The FIFA Series is an invitational competition. The 2026 edition will feature 48 teams divided into 12 groups, including nine men’s groups and three women’s groups, with all six continental confederations represented.
