Belgian coach Marc Brys has announced his 26-man squad for the highly anticipated AFCON qualifiers against Namibia on September 7.

With the stakes high, Brys blends experience with youthful exuberance, creating a formidable lineup that can compete at the highest level.

The squad features established talents in every position, starting with the goalkeeping department. Andre Onana, a stalwart in goal, will be supported by Simon Omossola and Nimes’ Simon Ngapandouetnbu, forming a robust defensive foundation.

Brys has reaffirmed his faith in the defensive lineup, which includes experienced players like Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui and Fai Collins, who have proven their mettle on the international stage. Additionally, Jean Charles Castelleto receives his first call-up under Brys’ regime, adding fresh energy to the backline.

Wooh Christopher and Tchatchoua Jackson are expected to replicate their impressive club performances, while Harold Moukoudi, Nouhou Tolo, and Yvan Dibango round out a formidable defensive unit prepared to thwart any attacking threats.

The midfield is where the Indomitable Lions can truly assert their dominance. Cameroon’s most expensive player, Bryan Mbeumo, earns a second call-up under the belgian, bringing his flair and creativity to the center of the pitch.

He will be joined by a robust lineup featuring the likes of Carlos Baleba, Zambo Anguissa, Martin Hongla, Yvan Neyou, Olivier Ntcham, and Kunde Malong. Each of these players brings unique skills and experience, creating a dynamic midfield capable of transitioning from defense to attack seamlessly.

Notably, 18-year-old Ondoa Manga Foe from Valenciennes has earned his first international call-up after a standout season in Ligue 2. His inclusion demonstrates Brys’ commitment to nurturing young talent and providing them with opportunities to shine on the international stage.

Kick 442 exclusive source says, the attacking front will see the return of Toulouse striker Magri. Frank Magri, who made headlines as a goalscorer in AFCON 2023, returns to the fold after missing the June camp, eager to make his mark. Kevin Nkoudou, who was part of the last squad but did not see any game time, is given another chance to showcase his skills as he steps in for Ngamaleu.

Other prominent names in the squad include captain Vincent Aboubakar, known for his leadership and goal-scoring prowess, alongside Kilama Guy Marcelin, Boris Enow, Christian Bassogog and Lamkel Nze Didier.

The training camp is set to commence on September 2, with the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) ensuring that players arrive ahead of schedule to maximize preparation time. Accommodations will be at La Falaise Bonanjo from September 2-8, with training sessions planned at the Annex one of the Reunification Stadium.

Despite recommendations from the National Observatory of Sports and Physical Education (ONIES) to relocate the match to Yaoundé, FECAFOOT has confirmed that the game will take place at the Japoma Stadium in Douala.
