Volcan of Noun’s semi-final qualification into the semi-final of the 2024 national interpools has been challenged by rivals Krimi who have alleged the West Region champions fielded ineligible players against them.

According to information reaching our editorial crew, officials of Krimi in accomplice with their Atlantic of Kribi counterparts have opened a legal battle with the goal of disqualifying Volcan of Noun.

Krimi’s file on the litigation desk of the Cameroon football federation (FECAFOOT) have it that Volcan players; Bikoula Bidima Jules and Mefire Inoussa have forged their identification licenses.

If photos of the documents on social media are anything to go by, Volcan could be in big trouble as the licenses used by the complainants shows pictures of other persons have been scanned and affixed on the names of others having the duly established licenses.

It’s certainly a heart in mouth moment for Volcan and their fans as they eagerly await the verdict from FECAFOOT 24 hours after they beat Atlantic of Kribi 4-2 to finish top of their Pool with nine points.

If nothing changes, Volcan who finished fourth at the 2023 national interpools will face Abong Mbang in the semi-final of the 2024 tournament. A win for any of the sides in the semi-final game will earn a place in the final and promotion to the MTN Elite Two championship.

Mintack of Haut Sanaga will compete against Atlantic of Kribi in the other semi-final game to determine the second club to be promoted to the second tier championship.

Last season, ISOHSA of Limbe and Bafmeng United FA graduated to the second tier championship via the ten-club national interpools.
