  • Jean Pierre Nsame took his season tally to five goals in ten games following his early strike on Wednesday evening
  • The big forward scored earlier in the game to set his club on their way to victory
  • Young Boys won 2-0 and have to now switch their attention to the Swiss Super League

Young Boys Berne’s Cameroonian forward Jean Pierre Nsame was amongst the scorers as his club outclassed Rapperswil-Jona 2-0 in the quarter-final of the 2023/24 Swiss Cup on Wednesday evening away from home.

The 28-year-old Cameroon international scored the first of the two goals in the night Young Boys dominated and got the result to ensure they return to winning ways after the weekend draw against Lugano.

Visiting Young Boys entered the contest with their tails up as they embarked on another journey to leave a lasting impression in the competition they already won five times.

Nsame fired the visitors ahead just four minutes into the contest at the Sportstadion Grünfeld before Janko scored the second after the interval to make it 2-0.

Though the host made commendable efforts to at least get a goal from the game it wasn’t to be on a night the Young Boys defenders were at their best.

The latest goal is the legendary scorers fifth in ten games in all competitions for the reigning Swiss champions.

The club will switch its attention to their Swiss Super League game against Winterthur this Saturday at the Stadion Schützenwiese.
