Raissa Nnanga Ebolo scored both goals on Saturday to ensure reigning Guinness Super League champions, Lekie Filles picked up their first win of the season against city rivals AS Awa.
Second half goals from the last season deputy lead scorer ensured that Lekie Filles won the center Regional derby by 2-0 and returned to winning ways after 2-4 defeat last time out.
Both clubs entered the contest hoping to recover from their opening day defeat which made it a complex afternoon from the start.
Awa of coach Desire Djokam had their moments to hurt Stephane Ndzana’s team and get the better of the 4-3-3 system.
Though they were clear cut chances in the first-half there wasn’t a goal to show for it.
However, Nnanga made the breakthrough in the 53rd minute and completed her brace just before the end of regulation time to ensure Solange Larkingam and made won their first game in Lekie colors.
The game at the Olembe Annex stadium finished 2-0 in favor of last season’s Guinness Super League winners who can now flip the page of the Authentic Ladies defeat in day one.
Awa remains winless after two games while Lekie keeps track with pacesetters like FC Ebolowa.
