Nana Ama Asantewaa, former Black Queens goalkeeper has walked down the aisle with Ghanaian coach, Kofi Opoku in a white wedding ceremony that took place on the 13th of July 2024.

The ceremony was graced with the presence of friends and well-wishers of the newly-wedded couple.

The former Black Queens goalkeeper participated in the 2016 and 2018 AFCON tournaments, where she made five appearances for the national team.

Asantewaa was the first-choice goalkeeper for the Black Queens at the 2016 Women’s AFCON and made just one appearance during the 2018 Women’s AFCON that was hosted in Ghana.

The 30-year-old currently plays for Police Ladies FC while her spouse has been working closely with the Ghana Football Association as a technical member.

Opoku has attended several tournaments as part of Ghana’s youth national teams.

He is currently part of the technical team at Accra Shooting Stars and played an indispensable role during his team’s face-off with Borussia Dortmund legends (BVB) in a football match in 2022.
