Cameroon’s football governing body, Fédération Camerounaise de Football (FECAFOOT), will hold a press conference on Thursday, 13 February 2026, in Douala to unveil key details ahead of the 2025 Cameroon Ballon d’Or Awards.
The event is scheduled to take place at the Krystal Palace Hotel Douala from 10:00 local time, where officials are expected to outline the roadmap towards one of the country’s most prestigious football ceremonies.
Among the major highlights of the briefing will be the announcement of nominees across several categories, as anticipation builds for the crowning of new laureates in Cameroonian football.
The Cameroon Ballon d’Or recognises outstanding performers in domestic and international competitions, rewarding players, coaches and key actors who have distinguished themselves over the past year.
The annual awards ceremony has grown in stature, becoming a reference point in celebrating local league talent as well as Cameroonian stars excelling abroad. Past editions have shone a spotlight on emerging prospects while also honouring established names who continue to raise the country’s profile on the global stage.
This year’s edition is expected to reflect a competitive season across the MTN Elite One and Elite Two championships, alongside the exploits of players in the Guinness Super League.
With FECAFOOT now moving into the decisive phase of preparations, Friday’s press conference is set to provide clarity on voting procedures, award categories and the timeline leading to the gala night.
For players and clubs alike, the unveiling of nominees marks the first tangible step towards individual recognition — and for fans, the beginning of renewed debate over who deserves to be crowned Cameroon’s finest.
Last year’s event saw Nchindo John Bosco voted the player of the season.
