FC Samartex preparing to ambush Victoria United in Douala

• FC Samartex will play against Victoria United FC this Sunday at the Japoma Stadium in Douala
• 2023/24 Ghana Premier champions arrived Cameroon on Wednesday evening and moved directly to their base in Douala
• The two clubs will be making their debut in the CAF Champions League

2023/24 Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex have had their first training session on Cameroonian soil in prelude to their crunch CAF Champions League preliminary appointment against Victoria United FC that won the Cameroonian top-flight championship last season.

The Ghanaian side meeting Victoria United FC in their debut in the CAF interclub Competitions arrived Cameroon on Wednesday evening and moved to their base, but held their first training session on Thursday at the Bepanda Omnisport Annex stadium.

All 18 players that traveled with the Timba giants endured a great session guided by the technical crew headed by coach Nurudeen Amadu as they plot to devour Victoria United FC in their adopted harbour in Douala.

The club’s top officials like General Manager, Edmund Ackah, Human Resource Manager, Thomas Asaasie-Gyimah, Business Development Manager, Anyaba Kwasi Paul and Dr. Yussif Tijani all witness the training session while encouraging the players.

Victoria United players also moved to the city of Douala a few days earlier to acclimatize for their first game in the CAF interclub Competition.

The first-leg is slated for this Sunday, August 18 while the reversed fixture will be held in a week’s time at the Accra Sports stadium in Ghana.

An aggregate win for FC Samartex against Victoria United or otherwise will pit them against ASGNN of Niger or Moroccan side Raja Club Athletic in the second round. The fixtures for the second round are scheduled to take place from September 13-22.
