The Far North region has retained its Tournoi de Talents title after edging the West region 1–0 in the final of the National Football Academy (ANAFOOT) youth showcase at the Ngoa Ekelle Military Stadium.
The tournament, played from August 6 to 10, once again brought together ANAFOOT’s regional pools for a week of competitive football and talent spotting.
In a tight and physical final, the contest was decided by a lone strike from Lamine Omar Minar, whose goal sealed back-to-back championships for the northern outfit. The West pushed to find a leveller, but the Far North held their shape until the final whistle confirmed their successful title defence.
The Tournoi de Talents is designed to give young players competitive exposure while testing regional strengths, and this year’s edition produced several standout performances.
Djime Aristide of the Centre region was voted Best Player for his consistent influence in matches, while Djouchet Andy finished as top scorer with four goals. The North region’s goalkeeper, Djerabe Loïc, was named Best Goalkeeper for his reliability between the posts, and Far North coach Dang Wang Digou earned the Best Coach award for guiding his side to the trophy.
Foncemi Edgard of the North took the Young Best prize for his promise and impact, while the North also claimed the Fair Play award.
The Far North’s triumph underlined their grip on this competition, with their ability to close out matches proving decisive. The North’s dominance in individual awards confirmed the depth of their talent pool, while the West’s run to the final showed they remain a formidable contender in ANAFOOT’s growing football landscape.
This year’s tournament reaffirmed its place as one of the most important proving grounds for Cameroon’s next generation of footballers.
In the final rankings, the North region claimed third place after edging their playoff, the West region finished as runners-up after a solid campaign, and the Far North stood tall at the top,
