The organization committee of the 2025 Union of Central African Federation (UNIFFAC) Women’s CAF Champions League zonal playoffs have decided to swap match day one games of this season’s tournament to start this Wednesday in Malabo Equatorial Guinea.
Per kick442.com findings, the organizers have agreed with the clubs and CAF have agreed to play FC Ebolowa versus M’sichana FC at 1pm and not initially planned 4pm. We understand the decision was made so as to allow AC Colombe who are to arrive Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday to settle in and battle it out with Equatorial Guinean champions 15 de Augusto at 4pm.
Therefore fans of FC Ebolowa and Academie M’Sichana will open the competition in a remake of the DR Congo versus Cameroon club that closed the last edition while the hosts club will enter the party just after the first game.
A record five teams will compete for the right to represent UNIFFAC during this two weeks of intense competition in Malabo. The winner of the group format competition will earn the right to represent the zone in the continental championship scheduled later this year at a country to be announced.
TP Mazembe won the zonal and continental championship last season. The continental triumph automatically guarantees her spot in this year’s finals, meaning the champions of UNIFFAC in this women’s football frenzy in Malabo will be the second representative of Central Africa at the continental showpiece.
Besides this change induced by logistics issues, all other matches of the tournament will go on as scheduled.
