The Central Africa Republic (CAR) will play at home for the first time in over five years later this month when they face the Intermediate Indomitable Lions in the first-leg of the second round 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.

kick442.com has information in good authority revealing the Confederation of African Football (CAF) competition’s department led by Samson Adamu has granted the request of the country’s federation to play the first-leg game in Bangul on December 22 while Cameroon host the return game on December 27.

This decision marks an end to Central Africa Republic’s movements between Douala and Casablanca in previous qualifiers matches in the past four years.

This is a welcome development for coach Sebastien Ngato who has been preparing his team at the Kaimba Blasco for multiple months in an effort to be ready to give CHAN-regulars, Cameroon a run for their money.

Cameroon’s coach Soh Simplis is currently in camp with 30 players preparing to earn another qualification for the tournament reserved for players plying their trade in their country while coach Ngato has 24 players in camp.

The first-leg game will be played on December 22 in Bangul while the return game has been slatted five days later in Yaoundé.

The winner of the tie on aggregate progresses to the finals of the 19-nation tournament scheduled for next February in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

Cameroon has a proud balance sheet of two quarter-final and a semi-final appearance in the previous five participation in the tournament that begun in 2009.
