Njong Wonge John of Foncha Street FC of Bamenda scored his first goal of the season in his team’s MatchDay four encounter against Renaissance of Ngoumou.

Foncha Street FC’s striker Njong John scored the lone goal for his team as they picked up their first victory of the season in the elite two championship against Renaissance of Ngoumou.

Played at the University of Bamenda stadium, the match counted for the fourth day of play in the elite two championship.

Foncha Street FC started the match the better team as it took the crossbar to keep Renaissance in the match. Bakado Carter’s second minute strike hit the crossbar.

Renaissance of Ngoumou then settled into the game and it took the goalkeeping brilliance of Lloris Tenda to prevent the visitors from taking the lead.

Jean Michel Mewolo’s shot was saved by Lloris Tenda who also made a superb save from the follow-up header from Franck Christian Djembe to keep the scores at zero all.

At the 28th minute of play, Emango Zidane delivered a perfect cross that was headed by Njong John to beat goalkeeper Samuel Dilan Yede as Foncha Street FC took the lead and preserved it into the break.

In the second half, Njong John came close to doubling scores for Foncha Street FC but his shot failed to find the back of the net.

All attempts from Renaissance of Ngoumou to level scores were futile.

Foncha Street FC picks up their first victory of the season and now have three points.
