Experienced striker Kongnyuy Jude Vernyuy was on target twice for Panthere Sportive of Nde as they came from a goal down to defeat Rangers FC Bafut at The University of Bamenda stadium in Bambili.
The match counted for the 4th day of play in the MTN Elite Two championship.
Rangers FC Bafut came into the match with Charlemagne Mbongo having supervised their training this week after the suspension of Ngeukep Sylvanos Clerc.
Ledwine Ache Aruna put Rangers FC Bafut in front at the 17th minute of play with a fine finish.
The lead lasted just for four minutes as experienced striker Kongnyuy Jude replied with a fine header at the 21st minute of the match.
Both sides kept the score situation at one goal on either side at the break.
Upon resumption of the second half, both teams struggled to impose their play style but the defenders remained resolute.
With barely five minutes to the end of the match, Kongnyuy Jude silenced the crowd that turned out in Bambili with a superb goal; his second of the match.
Coach Soh Simplis Magloire picked up a precious three points on his return to Bamenda.
The victory is Panthere Sportive of Nde’s second victory of the season.
Meanwhile, Rangers FC Bafut is still in search of their first victory of the season.
