Rangers FC Bafut and Dragon of Yaounde played a goalless draw on Match day one of the MTN Elite Two championship while Bafmeng United failed to present licenses in their match against Foncha Street FC.
Played at the University of Bamenda stadium in Bambili, both teams failed to find the back of the net in the match.
Dragon of Yaounde proved dangerous in the first minutes of the match as team captain Koloto Vivien Frederic and Ebeny Beko Chris Terence came close to opening scores for Dragon in the opening quarter of the match but failed to do so.
The early pressure from Dragon was dealt with by Rangers FC Bafut.
Rangers then created chances via Meh Ndonwie Filding, Raisu Haji Toulalan and Denis Wanki Mejang but they all failed to find the back of the net.
In the second half, Rangers FC Bafut continued dominating possession and created most scoring opportunities.
In the 90th minute of the match, Musa Usman Ismael had the ball in the back of the net for Rangers FC Bafut but it was ruled out for offside.
Both teams went back home with a point.
Earlier, the match between Bafmeng United and Foncha Street FC didn’t take place to the disappointment of the thousand of fans that turned out to watch the encounter.
Our sources confirmed to us that most of the players presented by Bafmeng United didn’t have licenses.
We gathered that Bafmeng United currently have 12 licenses and more than half of the number is injured and couldn’t take part in the match.
Our source also revealed that, the reason for the lack of licenses for Bafmeng United is due to the fact that they failed to present their licenses to the commission in charge of validating the contracts of players.
