Match Day Six of the MTN Elite One championship produced drama and goals in Bafoussam as Aigle de la Menoua and Stade Renard played out a pulsating 3-3 draw at the Bamendzi Stadium.

The hosts made a blistering start to the encounter. Ulrich Pange Lobe opened the scoring in the 10th minute before Blaise Ndiforchu doubled the advantage just three minutes later. Aigle looked firmly in control heading into the break with a two-goal cushion.

Stade Renard, however, emerged from the interval with renewed determination. Arthur Mani-Mben reduced the deficit in the 50th minute to spark hopes of a comeback. But those hopes were briefly dented when Ndiforchu struck again in the 52nd minute to restore Aigle’s two-goal lead at 3-1.

The visitors refused to give up. Jean Simplice Mbang pulled one back in the 73rd minute, setting up a tense finale. Their persistence paid off five minutes from time when Carlin Manga Mbah found the equaliser in the 85th minute to complete a remarkable fightback.

The result leaves Aigle de la Menoua in 10th place with six points after six matches, while Stade Renard move to 11th with five points. At the top of the table after Match Day Six, Gazelle FA and Unisport share the lead on 13 points, closely followed by Coton Sport and PWD Bamenda on 12 points each.

It was a thrilling contest in Bafoussam, but both sides may feel they let valuable points slip in an increasingly competitive Elite One campaign.
