AS FAP’s right back Dinga Guy Bertrand, consider’s their Elite two performance to be below expectation but they are keen on finishing on a high.
According to Dinga, after failing to be on top spot, the objective for the season is to secure survival in Elite 2, by winning all remaining matches.
“We are not satisfied being on the 7th position, with 28 points. The objective, from the start of the season was to finish as leaders,” said Dinga.
“I can say all hopes are not lost for now, because we intend to strive hard, so as to take the remaining 12 points to finish on the best spot,” He added.
AS FAP counts seven victories and the same number of draw plus six defeats in 21 games this season.
“Also, l believe one of the issues that has deprived us from meeting the target, is injuries to key players. I participated in seven matches in the first round. 13 out of 20 matches in all. So l could not deliver as usual,” Dinga concluded.
Dinga’s FAP have picked up 29 points so far, but stand an outside chance of securing one of the two promotion spots if they can win all their remaining matches.
Victoria United lead the race for promotion to Elite 2 with 40pts while Stade de Bertoua in second spot trail them by seven points as it is with AS Lausanne.
