Egypt and Namibia made it to the second round of the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Qualifiers on Sunday.
The Egyptian side defeated South Sudan 4-0 in the return leg of the first round.
The first leg of the encounter had ended in a similar scoreline.
The North African side raced to a 3-0 lead in the first half thanks to goals from Samya Adam, Hala Maustafa, and Sarah Essam.
Essam sealed the win with her second goal of the game in the 72nd minute to make it 8-0 win on aggregate for Egypt.
Egypt will face either Senegal or Mozambique in the second round.
Meanwhile, a brace from Zenatha Coleman handed Namibia a 2-0 win over the Gambia in another return leg of the first round.
The first leg ended 3-2 in favour of Namibia with the second leg result sealing a 5-2 win on aggregate.
Namibia will likely face Ghana in the next round.
