Players of Éclair FF of Sa’a have publicly displayed their support to their peers of Canon Ladies of Yaoundé.
The girls from Sa’a wore Canon Ladies of Yaounde jerseys for warm up before their match day 7 game against Authentic Ladies Saturday as a show of support to their rivals locked in a legal battle with the Cameroon football federation.
Canon Yaounde were declared general forfeiture after failing to honor two of their league games for the 2022/23 Guinness Super League season.
The problem originates from the fact that the federation noticed the presence of two institutions claiming to represent Canon Yaounde thus putting it in a tight corner.
The decision to suspend Canon Ladies has rendered more than 60 girls jobless. These are the ladies their peers of Éclair were sending a message of support to last weekend.
The Guinness Super League started off with 12 clubs this season, but the suspension of Canon Ladies have left the championship with just eleven clubs.
There have been rumors that Canon will be reinstated but to date there is no official confirmation.
