19-year-old Dylane Achimi delivered a stellar performance saturday afternoon, scoring a hat-trick in Astres of Douala’s 3-1 victory against Dynamo.
This match, part of Day 12 of the MTN Elite One, saw Achimi become the first player to achieve a hat-trick this season, marking a significant milestone in his burgeoning career.
With the team trailing 1-0 at halftime, the former real academy player equalized in the 72nd minute off an assist from Gaitan Maxwell, and then scored again a few minutes later.
Substitute Ahmed Shepeh set up the striker for a hat trick in the 90th minute, making him the first player to achieve this feat this season.
Achimi’s hat-trick brings his total to five goals in the championship, solidifying his position as a key player for Astres and validating the high expectations surrounding him as a promising youngster in Elite One. This is his first season in Cameroon’s top flight, and he has quickly made an impact.
Before joining Astres, Achimi honed his skills at Real Foot Academy, where he twice emerged as the top scorer in the Littoral Regional League. During his time in the regional league, he scored an impressive 24 goals in 26 matches over two seasons.
His debut start came against AS Fortuna, where he marked the occasion by scoring a goal in their 2-0 win. He also scored the lone goal in the match against Aigle du Moungo.
This could be the start of a great season for the young player, who aims to surpass Jules Armand Kooh’s previous top-scoring record of 22 goals.
