Clinton Njie Signs with Rapid Bucharest

Cameroonian forward, Njie Clinton Mua has joined Rapid Bucharest, brining an end to his difficult situation of club-less situation as announced by  Marius Sumudica.

Njie began his professional career in 2011 with Lyon, where he made 60 appearances and scored 15 goals. His impressive performances led him to the club’s top-tier squad in Ligue 1.

In 2016, Njie made a significant move to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. Although his time was limited to just 8 appearances without scoring, it provided him with invaluable experience. He soon returned to France, joining Marseille on loan, where he enjoyed a standout season with 39 appearances and 10 goals.

Following his successful time spent at Marseille, Njie transferred to Sivasspor where he made 72 appearances, scoring 5 goals and providing 5 assists.

On the international stage, Njie made his senior debut for Cameroon in 2014, representing his nation in multiple Africa Cup of Nations tournaments. He played a crucial role in the 2017 tournament, where Cameroon emerged as champions, and also participated in the 2015, 2019 and 2021 editions.

Njie’s recent transfer to Rapid Bucharest was announced by the club’s manager, Marius Sumudica, who emphasized Njie’s extensive experience. “Look at where he has played,” Sumudica remarked. “With over 60-70 Premier League matches on his CV, at 31, he will be a mature player who will greatly assist us.”

With excitement he stated, “This is a beautiful country. Rapid is a big club.” With his rich experience and skill, Njie is sure to make a significant impact in Romania as highlighted by the club’s manager.
