Cameroonian winger Christian Bassogog has completed a high-profile switch to Saudi Pro League outfit Al Okhdood.

The 28-year-old, who was named Player of the Tournament at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, joins the club on a one-year deal with an option to extend for a further year.

Bassogog, who has represented Cameroon at both U23 and senior international level, arrives in Saudi Arabia following a brief spell with Turkish side Ankaragücü, where he made about 16 appearances in the second tier.

The “Chinese billionaire” as he is fondly called, known for his dribbling ability and eye for goal, will be looking to make an immediate impact for Al Okhdood as they aim to improve on their 17th place finish last season and avoid being embroiled in another relegation scrap

The former rainbow FC of Bamenda player has enjoyed a nomadic career so far, turning out for the likes of Aalborg BK, Henan Jianye, Shanghai Shenhua and Denizlispor. He will now hope to showcase his talents in the Saudi top flight and help Al Okhdood climb the table in their second season at the pro league.

The Indomitable Lion is currently in Cameroon for the 2025 Africa cup of nations qualifiers.
